Created for a game jam in which the challenge was to create a game in a genre you despise. The guys at Wolfire Games enjoy board games very much, but find their video game adaptations stale, and lacking the tactile pleasure of moving cards about. 'Desperate Gods' gives you the rule set, cards, pieces, everything you need to play the game, but there is no stopping you from throwing the pieces at your friends.
You move the pieces individually, and all other players see your cursor and you doing so in real time, recreating the tactile feel of rolling die and tapping a game piece on the table when moving. I myself, take great pleasure in tapping die on the virtual table to make a god awful racket while my friends are trying to take their turn.
The game itself plays a little bit like diablo, a little bit like ludo. embracing the roll and move genre and at the same time introducing complex elements like attacking monsters, inventory management and more. I have played more than the necessary amount of games of this and I am fascinated by the concept and game rules, and as the game is open source on github, I think It won't be long before we see some irresponsible use of Monopoly Money.

Online multiplayer board game "Desperate Gods" has 'throw pices at your opponents' support
If you're like me, you love a good, calm, board game. But games have somewhat spoiled me in that I find most games too boring, too long or too simple. I love a decent RPG-style game but always fail to introduce it to any non-gamer friends. Enter 'Desperate Gods' A game where the rules are only there if you feel like it.
